The Disconnect
Is reconnecting even possible
I'm not speaking of an outstanding bill — nor did I lose service.
Yes, it can relate to a bill going through the roof, and even a dropped call. More so the lost connections within a once strong bond. Father, sister, spouse, best friend; no one is exempt.
The feeling of disconnect can cause more tension than the problem at hand. The inability to communicate effectively and the ability to vent and be heard should never be an ordeal.
To feel disconnected from someone is to feel separated, possibly a breath away but yet it's long distance. There’s no conjunction; nothing is aligning and there are no dots to connect. That thin rope has hardened and popped — it's done for, no cliff to waltz back up as they've done before they've crossed whatever boundaries. Hence the rope wouldn't pop the first time the boundary was crossed, we tend to allot chances.
Disconnection is usually the last stepping stone
As I've learned, anything can be said, it's how you say it. However, one thing I can attest to, you do not get to choose how it sits with the receiver. Ironically, we cannot choose how they respond either. (Laughs)
